Splash Day at Daycare

Every Wednesday at daycare is Splash Day throughout the summer. Emily loves getting in the water. Her teachers told me that she and another little boy are about the only ones who like getting wet in their Toddler class. They are pretty good about taking pictures of all the kids there and making copies for the parents.

Finished Project

I finally finished Emily's 'Drama Queen' shirt. I first put zebra bows at the top of the shirt. I figured that wasn't a good idea because they were poking Emily in her neck and she kept picking at them. So, I ended up taking the bows off and the shirt sat in the Star Wars room unfinished for a few months. Last night I got this urge to finish it and this is what I came up with.

I put it on Emily this morning and put her hair up in little pig tails. I even had little barretts that matched the zebra ribbon.
She became excited when Mickey Mouse Clubhouse came on. She loves that show.

Little Piggies and Nachos

Yesterday I went to go pickup Emily at daycare and one of her teachers put Emily's hair in pig tails. I almost didn't recognize her. They looked so cute and she only tried to pull them out once. We went and got Taco Bell last night for dinner and Emily wanted to eat my nachos instead of her burrito she got.

Doin' the Dinosaur

We got Emily a new Elmo video that came out a few weeks ago called 'Dinosaurs'. It is really cute and some of the songs are pretty catchy. I think she loves this dvd because it has Abbey Caddaby (aka Addie, that's what Emily calls her) in it too. During the part in the video, Abbey, Elmo, and Telly all want to be dinosaurs and so they become them and they are singing a song about it. Everytime this song plays Emily starts doing the dance to it. I couldn't get her to do the roar in it, but she'll seem to do it once the camera is off, of course.

Dude Ranch Trip

Okay, I've finally been able to get these pictures loaded now that Matt's not on the computer. He's been playing some game on the computer with his dad and I can barely get on it at times.

We went to Bandera, Texas last week for a free vacation stay at The Flying L Ranch that we got for donating our car last year. We had to go on a tour of the ranch and sit through a meeting with a salesperson for Timeshares at this resort. Let's just say we won't ever go here again. When I booked the trip, we were under the impression that it was in San Antonio and then later I got the paperwork in the mail of where we were staying and it was at the dude ranch.

We didn't know where Bandera was and so we looked it up on mapquest and it's about an hour away from San Antonio. So our trip was a little bit longer. It took us seven hours to get there from Matt's parents house in Sherman, Tx. Sherman is about thirty miles from Gainsville, Tx. When we finally reached Bandera we had to go up a lot of winding roads. I didn't realize it was so hilly there. They call it Hill Country.

There was nothing on the way to where we were going and hoping that we would at least find a gas station. We finally got to one once we reached the town. This was their main street and there is hardly anything there. They did have a Sonic and a Dairy Queen but that was it for fast food. They did have a few hole in the wall places and it just all looked very run down. We had to go to the next town which was thirty miles away just to find a Wal-Mart.

Right before we reached our destination it started to rain and it rained our entire trip there.
So, the trip pretty much sucked. It would have been a lot better if it hadn't rained because the ranch has most of their activities outdoors.

This is where we stayed. They look like cabiney duplex homes. Our side had one bedroom and I think the other side had two bedrooms. We could hear our neighbors talking through the walls so we tried to be quiet on our side until the last day when Matt started making inappropriate noises.
This is the mini living room. Matt thought we were in the Twilight Zone when we first walked in. It's all country western themed, which we are not really into. The armoire had a little TV in it. It seemed so small compared to our TV.
The couch just felt nasty when we sat on it. Needless to say, we were so ready to come home especially to our own bed.
Here is a video that Matt took of our room the day we were headin' out.

Fun with Pops & Grandma

While Matt and I went off on our fabulous trip to Bandera, Emily stayed with his parents for a few days. This was the first time we were actually apart from her overnight. I think it was harder for us than it was for her to be apart, but she had a great time with the grandparents. They did lots of things together.

Since Emily is really into playing on our computer, Pops and Grandma got Emily her own computer that hooks up to the TV.

She went swimming in her little rainbow pool. She would go back and forth and give Mark and Selina a wet hug and then jump into the pool.

She has also turned into quite a gardner. I think she got most of the dirt in the pot.

They also got her this little car. She loved it. Every time we would say 'let's go' when we were leaving to go somewhere she would always go to this car and get in it instead of the actual car.

Here are a few videos that Mark captured while we were on our trip.

She seems to only go backwards in the car. I guess it's too hard for her to go forward because her little feet get stuck underneath the car.

At the Park

We went to a park that is right next to Matt's parents neighborhood. Emily loves going to the park and it's almost a fight when it is time to go. There is also a really nice pool next to the park. We ended up going to the pool a few days later. I think Emily liked it. At least she liked going down the kiddie water slide.

We've only been to this park a few times and the times that we have gone she always gravitates to this see-saw thing. She thinks it's so fun when we all get on it.

Happy 4th of July

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July. We took Emily to go see Wall-E, her first movie at a theatre, this morning and ended up leaving a little over halfway through the movie. So, we didn't get to see the end of it. She did really good during the previews and first part of the movie. Then she got a little restless and started crawling over all the empty chairs near us until she reached the aisle. I went and grabbed her and brought her back to the chair. Then after that it went all down hill. Luckily there was a lot of little kids there too and they were all making noises as well.

Later that night we went to Matt's company 4th of July party at his boss's old house. It's on the outskirts of Edmond, so fireworks are legal there. It looked like a warzone when we left because everyone else in their neighborhood were doing fireworks.

Here are a few pictures of Emily in her outfit for today.

At the party tonight, they had lots of food and fireworks. But, I think the popular items were this huge blow up slide and a blow up water slide. Emily really liked the slide and went down several times with Matt and once with me. I tried to go more than once, but it was really hard trying to get up. Some of the other kids were coming over from the water slide and it was too slippery to get up. Especially trying to carry a kid up with you. Here are a few videos of us coming down them.
