What a Night

Well, last night was a fun night. For those of you who don't already know, we were at the Emergency Room at Mercy last night for Matt. He's fine now. He called me at work just before 5 and told me that he had a dizzy spell and for me to come pick him up from work since his truck doesn't have air conditioning. I was on my way to him and he called back and said one of his buddies was going to take him to an Urgent Care that we normally go to. He thought he was dehydrated and had low blood sugar because his muscles started cramping up all over his body. When he got to the Urgent Care they told him based on his symptoms that they needed to go to the ER. I ended up going to pick up Emily at daycare and then stopped by the house to get some snacks for her before we headed to the hospital.

When they arrived at the hospital Matt said his body started to get worse. He started feeling tingly all over and he could barely walk and he couldn't move his fingers to sign in at registration. It was just the strangest thing. The doctors drew blood and ran a few tests on Matt to find out what was going on. They even did an EKG on him to make sure it wasn't anything heart related.

After waiting for the test results, they determined that he was just dehydrated and had low potassium. So they gave him an IV of some solution and released him after a couple of hours. Luckily there was no one in the waiting room when they got to the hospital so we didn't have to wait very long. Matt was discharged around 8. We then went to Wal-Mart and stocked him up with some Gaterade and bananas. We also stopped and got him some dinner since he was starving by then.

Later that night he was back to normal and playing video games online with his dad. Thanks to everyone for all of your thoughts and prayers. Without them it could have been worse.

Latest Project

I've been trying to find a shirt that says 'Drama Queen' on it for Emily, but I havn't had any luck. It seemed like last year around this time I could find them. I guess because they were a smaller size. So I decided to make my own. We sell all sorts of iron-on sayings at work and I just happened to find one. I found the shirt at Children's Place and then decided I needed to add something to it to dress it up. I had a hard time picking the type of ribbon I wanted and then I thought of the zebra print.

After I put the shirt on Emily, she kept pulling at the bows that I sewed on to the shirt. I later ended up taking them off and I think I'll just sew one bow in the corner above where it says drama.

Indiana Emily

Matt and Chris went to go see the new Indiana Jones movie at midnight Wednesday. Matt was getting his dress attire ready for the festivities when I got home from working that night. Emily wanted to wear his Indy hat. Here she is hamming it up for the camera.

Here is Matt all ready for the movie. What a dork!! J/K

Froggy Pool

Pops and Grandma got Emily a really cool pool for this summer. It's a frog pool that sprays water at you. Of course, in the picture it just shows the water sprinkling the kid but it shoots out when we had the water hooked up to it. Emily was just checking it out here.
Pops was showing her that you are supposed to get into the pool.

Here she is getting out of it because the water was a little cold.

She loved it and kept going back and forth sticking her hand in the water that was spraying out of the pool.

Trip to the Zoo

Last weekend when Matt's parents came down we went to the Zoo. It was so crowded and was a very pretty and hot day. The first animals we saw were the elephants. Emily was getting very mad when we started to move to go see the next animals. I think she really liked them because they were the first animals that we saw. This is what we were looking at when Mark took the picture.

This was after Emily got sprayed with the many misters around the zoo.
Of course, Matt had to give her a piggyback ride.

She loved it when we took her out of the car seat and let her run around. She would get so fast going down slopes and we would tell her to slow down or else she might fall. She did a few times and skinned up her knees.

She really liked looking at the gorillas. They were about the only animals that we saw up close. Emily stood there looking at them at pointing to them for a while. I think she liked standing there with the big kids. She looked so small standing next to them.

Here she is again just starring at the gorilla sitting next to the glass wall.

We had a good time and it was fun to see Emily point at and notice all of the animals. The last time we went to the zoo she was to young to really know what was going on.

Being Silly

Matt's parents came down for the weekend and Emily was enjoying her time with her goldfish before we left to go to the zoo. Emliy figured out how to make the water bottle spray water and she accidentally sprayed her face. That's why it looks wet.

Matt's parents bought this table and chair set before Emily was born and they brought it up to us. It's a little more sturdier than the princess table set.

Eating Like a Big Girl

Emily loves sitting and eating at her big girl table. She won't sit in the highchair for very long. She'll sit in it for a little while and then all of the sudden you will hear some creaking noises and then she's standing up in her highchair. That little booger has figured out how to weasel her way out of the straps that hold her in.
We are still working on the eating utinsels but she's getting the hang of them.

Mother's Day

I'm a little late about posting our Mother's Day. Sunday we ended up going to Tulsa to visit with my family. We went to La Fortune Park for the afternoon and it was so busy. I havn't been to that park since I was a kid and they had some neat playground equipment. Of course, Emily loved the slides and swings. Matt tried to get her to go down a swirly slide, but she would not to it. It was a little too big for her. My mom slid down the slide with Emily too. At one time a little girl came up to her and told her to get off of the slide. It was pretty funny.

There was a little step on the other side of these steps to get up on the slide but Emily insisted on climbing up the higher step. She's all about climbing things now.

This is what Emily made for me at her daycare for Mother's Day. Well, with a little help from her teachers.

Pebbles (aka Emily)

Last night, while we were watching American Idol, Emily found one of my hairclips and kept wanting me to put it in her hair. Then I got the idea to put her hair in a ponytail. It's just now starting to get long enough to do it. I just did the top part and it reminded me of Pebbles from the Flintstones. She pulled it out shortly after I was able to get pictures of her.

Spring Pictures at Daycare

They had their pictures taken at daycare a few weeks ago and I just got them back yesterday. I find it funny that every picture that's taken professionally with this company, they can't ever get her to smile. Oh well, it's still cute.

Big Eyes

When we were putting Emily to bed the other night she kept wanting to hug a stuffed animal and then other and then other and so on. She was hugging all of the animals in her bed and I took this picture when the light was out. I guess she wasn't ready for the flash.

Toy Frog Chair?

I bought this frog, that hangs on the wall in the bathtub and holds all of the bath toys, last year. We had it hanging at the apartment but it kept falling off the wall all the time. I got it out the other day to try to hang it in the bathroom and Emily went to sit in it and play with all of the bath toys.
I caught this picture as she was walking by me.

Bruised Eye

When I picked up Emily at daycare on Friday I noticed her eye looked read as soon as I walked in the door. Her teacher said that one of the other kids kicked her in the eye at naptime. I guess they were trying to get in to the same cot. Later that night it was all puffy and it started to make my eyes water just looking at it. The bruise is almost gone and there's just a little red dot left over.

Night Time Fun

Wednesday Matt's dad came down to OKC for a business trip. He stayed with us until Friday morning. I gave Emily a bath on Thursday night and Mark had to get a few pictures to take back to Selina.

Emily loves bathtime and I dried her off with a ducky towel.
She was running around naked with the towel on her head.
She was playing on her spinning zebra saying 'CHEESE'!
