Dance Maniac

This weekend we went to Tulsa to visit with my parents and the rest of my family for birthdays. My sister, Kaci, came over on Saturday and Emily was showing off her dance skills to her. Kaci had some songs on her phone and one of them was something that had to do with characters from Sesame Street that was to the tune of some rap song. Emily was just going nuts.

Just Playing Around

This weekend was just a boring weekend with it raining literally all day Saturday. Sunday was boring for us too. Matt played video games all day and there wasn't anything good on tv. So I decided to go and clean out some of Emily's stuff and I found some sunglasses that my aunt got Emily for Christmas last year. Emily was walking around the house with them on and being goofy. I told Matt that she looked like a female Harry Potter. Then I found this little witch hat that Matt's parents got for Emily when she was born. It was so funny when I turned the hat on to play music. She couldn't make up her mind if she liked it or not. She kept sticking her little lip out as if to cry but then she would start clapping. I started cracking up. I don't know, maybe it's only funny to me.

Happy Birthday Mutti!!

Today is my mom's birthday and it is her and my dad's thirty something wedding anniversary. I've lost track of how many years it has been. For those of you who don't know, I call my mom Mutti every once in a while. Mutti means mom in German. I've been calling her that since I took German in high school. Anyways, Happy Birthday/Anniversary Mutti. We love you!!

A Little Excited!!

This morning Emily was watching Sesame Street in the living room. I knew that Elmo's World was getting ready to start because it usually comes on toward the end of the show. So, I went and grabbed the camera thinking she would be excited about it. Of course she was. She has been doing a happy feet dance recently and she was doing it in the recliner. It was pretty funny. She is dancing now as she was watching herself on video. She's also trying to sing with Elmo.

An Affair of the Heart

Saturday, Emily and I went to a craft fair called 'An Affair of the Heart.' I wasn't sure about taking her by myself because she has been a little toot the past few times I've gone to the grocery store or somewhere else with her. But, she did really good considering there were so many people there and lots of women pushing their babies in strollers. At one point, there was a lady pushing her kid the opposite way of us and when Emily and the other little girl went by each other they were trying to share their snacks with each other. It was pretty cute. The fair had lots and lots of really neat stuff. They even had quite a few baby boutique booths. I told myself that I had to buy something for coming all the way out to it. So, I ended up buying this really cute tank top and bow for Emily that says 'Wild Thing'. The bow is pink and zebra print. They even had some shorts that went with it and they sewed a black boa around the leg wholes. Once I got up closer to the shorts I realized that we had the exact same shorts. I got them at Old Navy last summer that went with a onesie that said Daddy's Girl. I'm sure they are really small now.
I think I'll buy some jean shorts for the summer and dress them up to match the tank top.

I didn't think I would know anyone when I was there. Then all of the sudden I heard someone say my name and I turned around to see my old boss, Dale, from Hobby Lobby in Stillwater. I was shocked to see him and then I remembered that him and his wife created a photography business and they had a booth there. He couldn't get over that I have a kid now. He told me he would like to take pictures of Emily because they are trying to build their business with weddings and different portraits besides sports. I think I will have him take some pictures of her once the weather starts getting warmer and the flowers start blooming. I would love to get some nice pictures of her in her Easter dress. It would be nice to go back to Stillwater and have him take some pictures at Theta Pond and some of the older buildings on Campus at OSU. Anyways, I thought it was neat that I ran into him out of all the people that were there.

Here is a video of her in the outfit. I couldn't get a good picture of her wearing it because she would not stay still. She was getting a little fussy at the end.

A Little Trim

Emily's bangs have been getting so long and I finally decided to trim them the other day. We were supposed to go to Tulsa this past weekend, but that fell through. My sister was going to give her a little haircut then. I didn't want to wait a few more weeks until we saw her again so, I just decided to do it myself. She looks so cute with her bangs cut shorter. I wouldn't even call this her first haircut because I only trimmed a little bit off.

Reading

Matt's parents got Emily this little Minnie Mouse foldup chair. Matt pulled it out of the closet the other day and Emily kept wanting us to set her in it because she's not tall enough to do it herself. I was reading this Little Mermaid book to her and she kept carrying it around the house with her. I'm surprised she wanted to sit in the chair because the last time she did she fell all the way over in it. She tried to get out of it herself and the chair folded up when she fell over. She did good in it this time.

Long Time No See

On Saturday, I was rumaging through the Star Wars room closet and found Emily's Boppy. I can't even remember the last time she used it. Maybe sometime last spring. I forgot we even had it. So, I brought it out into the living room and she was having a ball sitting in it. She would plop her little booty right in the center of it.

Matt was being goofy and making funny noises at her.

Addicted to Starbucks!!

I have a bad habit and I'm afraid I've passed it on to Emily. I love Caramel Frappuccino's from Starbucks and every time I get one Emily has to finish it. If she doesn't get a sip she can get very mad.
I havn't gotten one in a while since it's been cold and the weather was so nice yesterday and I was craving one at work all day. I stopped and got a frappuccino after work, before I picked up Emily at daycare, and she spotted it in the cupholder about halfway home. I heard her pop her binky out of her mouth and then she threw it against the door. She cried all the way home until we got out of the car and then I let her hold it.
I did drink quite a few of them while I was pregnant with her. I wonder if that's why she likes them just as much as I do.

She was so intent about drinking it that she would never look up at me when I was trying to take a picture of her.

Ready for Elmo!!

Emily's all ready to go see Elmo. I went and bought tickets for Sesame Street Live Sunday and then I found this Elmo shirt at Babies R' Us. I don't normally like shirts that have Disney or some sort of character on it, but we had to get this shirt since we are going to see him in about another month. I got tickets for a Saturday morning at 10:30. I figured she would be the most alert then and not sleepy. I just hope we'll be able to see. Who new tickets would cost so much just to see Sesame Street Live. I had to buy three tickets because they make you buy one for the kids when they have had their first birthday. Oh well. I hope she will enjoy it.

Easter Dress

Yesterday my parents came down from Tulsa. We went to the mall and were looking at dresses for Easter at Macy's. They had some really cute dresses, but I loved this green dress the best. I couldn't make up my mind which one to get at first because they are pretty expensive and she'll probably only wear it once. So, I went back today and got it. I went to this children's consignment store, where I usually get her bows, and found one that matched the dress perfectly. I also went to Target and found a little half sweater that goes with it too if it is a little cold that day. I ended up getting a twelve month size so I'm hoping it will still fit in another month. The 18 month would have just swallowed her. She seemed to really like it.

Getting Ready

Wednesday I didn't have to go to work until noon. I usually give myself plenty of time to get ready since I usually have to chase around the house after Emily. She came into our bedroom and pulled my bag of curlers down off of the bed. She wasX22132143SZ (that was Emily) trying to put the curlers in her hair like I had them in mine.

Next Chore: Dusting!!

Last night, for some reason I decided to do some dusting after I cleaned up the kitchen from making dinner. I was dusting off our dinning table that we never use and Emily was watching me very intently. So I handed her the duster and she started dusting off her little table. It's so neat to watch her do stuff that we are doing. I guess that means we need to watch what we do around her, not that it's anything to be worried about ;)

My mom told me we are turning her into our little maid. That same night I was wiping down the counters in the kitchen. She went to her diaper bag and grabbed the last of the wipes out of it. She then went over to her zebra toy, the one that she can sit and spin on, and started wiping it down with the wipe and then went over to the trash can and threw it away. I just busted out laughing when I saw her do that.

She also likes doing stuff for us. When I was making dinner the other night I asked Matt if he had a drink already. He said no and Emily kept bugging me, so I asked her to take his drink to him. She did and came back for something else to give him. She came back several times and ended up taking him some napkins and my drink too.
