Snow Day

Matt and I planned to go to work and take Emily to daycare despite the treacherous weather today. We all rode in my car since it does better in bad weather. Everything was good on the way to Matt's work. We didn't slip or slide on the streets like yesterday. The sleet really helped out and gave us more traction. Anyway, once we dropped Matt off at work I went to drop Emily off at daycare. As we were getting closer I noticed that there weren't any cars in the parking lot and then I saw that all the lights were off in the building. The daycare was closed today. We checked the local closings and didn't see the daycare on there. I had to call work and my boss told me just to go home and not worry about coming in. After we got back home I was watching the news and saw that her daycare was closed. I just didn't watch the 'Business closings'. We were just watching the school closings. So, after all of that Emily and I had a fun Snow Day together.

Here is a picute of the ice on our poor baby tree in our front yard...

... and on the grass.
I bundled Emily up to go outside for a few minutes. It was way too cold to stay out any longer.
Emily was really attached to her baby doll today. She was telling her baby to say 'cheese' while I was taking her picture.
She kept wrapping her baby up in this little blanket.
These next few pictures would not load up right. She really wanted to go down the slide.
She had ice all over her once she climbed up the side.
She climbed up the slide all by herself.

Singing in the Bath

This is from last week. I have been so busy at work this past week. We had our inventory at work yesterday and we've been preparing for it the last few days and even worked Sunday. So, I'm a little behind on the blogging thing. Everytime Emily is taking a bath she always sings to me. She was too intersted in the soap while she was singing her ABC's. She really does know the whole thing. Oh, Fridays are movie days at daycare and they watch a little bit of Barney. Every night she asks to watch Barney, but we don't have any Barney videos. Luckily we have Video on Demand with our cable service and it's free for all of the tv shows. So, she can watch a few episodes that way. Matt and I don't really care for Barney, but she sits through it quietly, so it's fine for now.

Heartbreaker

I found these cute new pj's for Valentine's Day yesterday at this place called The Market. It's right behind Quail Springs Mall. She was more interested in watching Cinderella than for me to take a picture.

Dress Up

This past weekend my parents came to stay with us and watch Emily while Matt and I both worked on Saturday. When I came home my mom was playing dress up with Emily. She is all about the Disney Princesses now and can name them all. We have Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and the Little Mermaid movies and she wants to watch them all the time. I forgot we had the princess clothes.

Here's Emily as Snow White.
I think this one is supposed to be a wedding dress. I'm not sure.

Happy New Year

Well, not much excitement here. We didn't do anything eventful last night. Emily went to bed around 9:00 last night and I think Matt fell asleep right after that. I stayed up long enough to see the ball drop in New York and was going to stay awake until it was actually midnight, but fell asleep just after 11. Today we spent all day taking down the Christmas decorations. It's kind of sad to see it all go, but then it's also nice to have a clean house that's not cluttered with Christmas stuff everywhere. Anyway, hope everyone had a good day.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve we drove to Tulsa and went to my Aunt and Uncle's house to visit and open presents. Here is Emily with my mom, grandma, and cousin Bethany. Matt bought this OSU stocking hat and just had to wear it and Emily kept wanting to wear it herself. (BTW, most everyone on my side of the family are OU fans.) Boooo!
Here's Emily with my sister, Aunt Kaci. Emily was trying to open her new My Little Pony herself. After she opened each of her toy presents she would go up to someone and say 'open'.
My sister made Emily this really cute Abby Cadabby fleece blanket. It's really soft and Emily loves it. She won't share with me when it cold in the house.

Emily was really good about taking everyone their presents, but when she took it to them she started opening their present for them. Here she is trying to open one of Papa's gifts.
Here's Matt in his OSU stocking.

Christmas Day

Ok, I had these in a certain order when I uploaded these and I've done this three times and it keeps getting them all out of order. I'm just going to keep going with these pictures out of order.

We stayed overnight with my parents in Tulsa for Christmas and after we got back home from the trip Matt put all of Emily's big presents together. This is her dollhouse we got her and she is playing with the daddy.
Santa brought Emily a big stuffed My Little Pony. She is really into the ponies now and picks the pony dvd to watch more often than Elmo. This picture was taken at the end of the day and you can tell she was just exhausted.
Here she is again playing with the dollhouse.
Daddy is moving the family into the house.

This video was taken Christmas morning. We all had a very late night and were still sleepy that morning. I think Emily didn't even go to bed until 11:30. Santa brought Emily the new Elmo Live too and this is a video of her playing with it. The video is pretty long but hilarious at the end. At least I think so.

Santa's Reindeers

Well, this is the video from Emily's class that sang 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer' for their Christmas program. They had moves to the song and her teacher told me that Emily was the only one that does them. This is a really bad video and we couldn't see Emmy with all of the people there. We had a good view of her until her teacher pulled her to the other side. The little boy at the front walking in is Devon. They are best buds and another girl with blonde hair named Lexi. They are always giving each other hugs and kisses throughout the day. I did see Emily peeking around to see us and she was waving at us too. Hopefully I can get her to do the moves on video here at the house.

Christmas Party

Well, Thursday was Matt's Christmas Party for work and it was at Incredible Pizza. We had a lot of fun, especially Emily. She loved the car game and Ski Ball. She kept throwing the balls up high and was hitting the protective covering. I think Matt even got wacked in the head with a ball.

Shh...Emily's Christmas Present

We got Emily this really cute dollhouse for Christmas. I guess it's not really a surprise since Emily was with us when we were deciding which one to get. Hopefully she won't remember it and will be surprised when she opens it up. We bought the big version of it and it includes some furniture for a few of the rooms. The company sells all of the individual rooms of furniture in seperate sets. So, if anyone is wondering what to get Emily for Christmas just let me know and I can tell you what furniture sets we still need for the dollhouse.

Nooo, Mommy, Nooo

Well, Matt and I have been sick this past week. Matt was sick the first part of the week and then around Thursday I got a sinus infection on the left side of my head. The pain started above my eye and went all the way down to my teeth and I got an ear infection in my left ear. So, it has not been a fun week. I think Matt's all better now but I'm still fighting my stuff. Anyway, I tried to get some pictures of Emily on Sunday but she was not being cooperative. She kept saying Noooooo, Mommy, Noooooo and would put her hand up in front of her face everytime I tried to take her picture. She started crying too so I just gave up. Here is one of the non fuzzy pictures.

Emily and Santa

Emily got to visit with Santa two times in one week. We first went to visit him when my mom was here to watch Emily while Matt and I had to work on a Saturday and then we saw him again this past Friday while Matt's parents were here. The first time she wouldn't sit in his lap and she hung onto me so tight and wouldn't get a picture with him. We talked about going to another mall and getting our picture with a different Santa, but we were already at the mall by our house and decided to try again. She let me put her on Santa's lap and the only hard part was trying to get her to smile. They only take up to three pictures and you have to choose the one you like the best. This was the best out of the three. At least she wasn't screaming her head off in the picture like she did last year. The only thing is that she pooped in her pants right before we went to see him so I hope Santa couldn't smell or feel it. Sorry Santa.

Sunday we went to Wal-Mart after breakfast with Matt's parents and we saw a Santa there. He was all the way at the other end of the store walking down one of the main walkways and Emily saw him coming and started yelling 'Santa'. She started waving at him and he waved back at her. When he got closer he said 'ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas' and shook her hand. She was so excited and actually said 'bye' to him instead of just waving goodbye like she normally does to people she doesn't know. She is getting so excited about Christmas even though she doesn't understand it. The house is all decorated inside and out and she says 'pretty' when we see a house with their lights on at night. So far she has done pretty good with leaving the ornaments alone. Every once in a while she'll take one off and bring it to me. It's usually one of her Care Bear ornaments or one of Matt's Star Wars ornament.

Baking with Grandma

On Thanksgiving morning, Emily helped Grandma make a few pies. Unfortunately, we could tell where Emily went through the house. She had flour fingerprints all over the furniture.

New Camera

This is our new camera. It's a Sony CyberShot SH50. It's pretty cool. The screen on the back of it moves around so you don't have to move your camera in a weird position.

Early Christmas Present

For the past few weeks I have been complaining about our camera and how I don't really like it anymore. We bought it right before Emily was born knowing we would take a lot of pictures, being first time parents and all. The other day I asked Matt what he wanted for Christmas and he said, "I don't know, but I have an idea of what I want to get you". I asked him what he was going to get me, thinking he wouldn't say anything. Then he blurted out "a new camera". He had done some research on cameras and asked around at work and already new which one he wanted to get. Over the next few days he was showing me what he had in mind and I started to get really excited. He went out and bought it the other day and said it was an early gift that way we could use it for the holidays coming up. I am soo excited about it and it really does a lot of cool stuff.

Today was a really pretty day and so we went to the park and experimented with the new camera on Emily. This first one is Matt's favorite and mine too. It's amazing how the quality of the pictures are already. They are so much better than with our old camera.

This one with the leaves is my other favorite.

She kept chasing this squirel around and picking the bark off the trees.
