Disney IPod

I went to Michael's today to find some beads to make a necklace to go with Emily's Easter dress. I know, I know, I went to H.L. competition. But they do have different stuff than we do. When I was going up to the front to checkout I found this bin that had Disney stuff on sale for 75% off. I found this Princess book that has a little music player with it. It plays cheesy songs but Emily loves it. She carries it around the house listening to the songs. Her ears are too small for the ear buds and so they keep falling out. I told Matt we're gonna have to get her a real IPod soon. This thing has kept her busy for a while today.
Hi Daddy!

Showing off her music player.

Here is a picture of our new Princess Potty Chart. I'm just letting her put stickers on the flowers for everytime she actually goes pee-pee in the potty. It has different lines for pulling down pants and washing hands, but she already does all of that. Heck, she can already put her clothes on without any help. I think this is going to be a slow process. She only has one sticker on a flower and we've been doing this at home for the past several days. She does really well at daycare and she even wore panties on Friday. I think she maybe had two accidents that day in them. One was during naptime. We'll get there sometime.

Here's a video of her using her music player.

Spring Pics at Daycare

We just got these pictures done a few weeks ago at daycare and they came back yesterday. They turned out pretty cute.

Playin' Around

I had this past Saturday off, while Matt worked, and while I was getting ready in the morning I could hear Emily playing in her room. She pretty much trashed it and I found her reading to her baby doll. Here she is trying to take a picture of me with her play phone.

Emily loves wearing necklaces. We went shopping at the mall by us later that day and we found this cute little flower necklace. It's so funny, she is going to be quite the little shopper when she gets older. Everytime we go to the mall she starts saying 'yeah' and gets soo excited when she sees the building. I think she likes going there because they have the indoor play area too.
Here is the video I caught of her reading to her baby. She thought I was taking a picture of her and she said 'cheeeese'. I thought it was pretty funny.

Fun with Papa & Mimi

Whew, what a weekend. Emily and I went to Tulsa this past weekend for a funeral on Friday and a birthday party on Sunday. I had to drive back to Edmond Saturday because Matt and I both had to work and so my parents watched Emily for us in Tulsa.

On Saturday, my parents took Emily to the mall and spoiled her. They rented one of those car strollers and went to the kiddie area and let Emily run around and play. After that they ate some ice cream and went to the Disney store. Emily got an Ariel t-shirt, sunglasses, and flip flops.

Here are some pictures that my mom took at the mall. She wasn't fast enough on taking the pictures on some of them. She kept getting pictures of other people or Emily's feet.

My dad said she was such an angel all day. Towards the end of the trip they said she kept putting her feet up on the car and trying to turn the steering wheel.

She was worn out by the time I got to the house on Saturday...

... and so was my dad.

After church on Sunday we went to eat lunch at Chili's with my parents and grandma. Emily sat with my parents in the booth. She kept taking my dad's pen out of his pocket and coloring with it on the kid's menu. The little stinker wouldn't look up to get a picture.

While I was packing up all of our stuff my mom was playing the piano with Emily. I think I might have a little pianist now.

After all of that we went to Josh and Sam's birthday party. Josh turned the big 3-0 (sorry Josh) and Sam turned the big 3. They had a Cars themed birthday party.

Sesame Street Live

All week Emily hasn't seemed excited about going to see Elmo, until today. She didn't want to wear her Abby shirt. I had to bribe her with candy to wear it. Then later when I took this picture she was finally getting excited.

This year was called 'Elmo's Green Thumb'. The stage was decorated with lots of flowers. I thought it was very cute and colorful. The lights were pretty cool too.

Emily got really excited when the characters started coming out. Especially with Elmo and Abby, those are her favorites.

These last two pictures were during intermission. She just couldn't sit still and had to climb the stairs that were by our seats.

We had lots of fun going this year. Last year was a lot more fun when it was her first time to go. Of course, that was when she was really into Elmo.

Sesame Street...Here We Come

I finally broke down and bought tickets to Sesame Street Live. We've been debating back and forth on whether to take her this year. She's not really into Elmo anymore. She's moved on to all of the Disney Princesses. I think it's almost time for a new copy of the Little Mermaid and Cinderella. I think she will have lots of fun. I've been showing her pictures and videos from when we went last year. I'll ask her is she wants to go see Elmo again. Most of the time it's yes, but then she'll say 'no' too. So, check back late Sunday for pictures. We have tickets for the one o'clock showing.

New Background

I've been wanting to change the background on the blog for a while now. I just didn't know how. I found a website where you can download free backgrounds and I thought I would check it out.
I really havn't been keeping up with the blog these past few weeks. My mom got me to create a profile on Facebook and I've been hooked on that. It's pretty neat and I've reconnected with people that Matt and I went to high school with. We didn't go to our ten year reunion this past year and Facebook is a great way to connect with people from your past and present and see what they are up to now.

I do have to tell a funny story. I had to work late on Monday and Matt called me that night to tell me that Emily got a french fry stuck up her nose during dinner. Matt had his back to Emily and she started crying all of the sudden. He couldn't figure out what happened and asked her what was wrong. She said her nose hurt. He thought she stuck her finger up her nose and scratched it bad. He decided to give her a bath to calm her down and later saw something stick out her nose. He thought it was a big booger hanging out. Then he looked at it closer and it was pieces of potatoes that finally started coming out. Emily finally figured out how to blow her nose and he told her to blow really hard and more pieces came out. Hopefully she has learned her lesson about sticking things up her nose.

She has also been speaking in full sentences and then has other moments where it's a bunch of jabbering. It's really weird when you can understand everything she just said.

Still not potty trained yet. She does really good at daycare though. Her teacher even told me she thought she would be ready for panties soon. Yeah right. I got a little too excited about that one. I put her in panties last night so she could get used to the idea of them. Twenty minutes later she came up to me while I was making dinner and said 'uh oh'. She was soaking wet and peed on the computer chair. I know, every kid is different and she'll get there on her own time. She's always been that way. On her own time. Anyways, that's the latest update for now.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

This was the valentine that Emily gave out to her friends and teachers at daycare today. I think almost all of the other girls in her class had the same kind that they gave out. Emily was so excited when she saw them all. On the way home she was going through all of her candy and eating the ones she could open easy. I kept telling her 'no candy' and she kept on eating it. Oh, well. She's not a very good listener sometimes.

Here are the rest of the pictures we took of Emily at the park last week. Hope everyone has a good Valentine's Day.

Bubbles

Well, yesterday was pretty exciting with the Tornadoes we had. One was about a mile from my work and then we had some damage next to our neighborhood. Power lines came down and so now they have the roads closed off just past our block. When I went to pick up Emily yesterday, the whole street was out of power where her daycare is. It was pitch black in their building and they had all of the kids piled into their saferooms. A lot of the kids were crying but they said Emily did pretty good considering. She held onto me pretty tight once I got there. After we got home last night, she would come running up to me and yell 'mommy' every time it thundered really loud. It was kind of nice since she actually let me snuggle with her.

On the other hand, Emily was helping me put together all of her little gift bags for their Valentine's Day party at daycare for her friends the other day. We put candy and toys in the bags and Disney Princess cards. We had some extra bubbles left over and I let her play with them. She was so proud of herself when she would blow the tiny bubbles.

Fun at the Park

Yesterday, we took advantage of the nice weather and we ate lunch at the park. It was the first weekend, for the whole year, that is was just the three of us.

Emily was excited about wearing her sunglasses. I always forget to take them with us and remembered that day.

She climbed up this ladder all by herself. Matt was freaking out that I let her do it.

Just playin' around with the features on our camera.

Check back later on in the week. I have more to post from the park, but I think I'll save them for Valentine's Day.

Snow Day

Matt and I planned to go to work and take Emily to daycare despite the treacherous weather today. We all rode in my car since it does better in bad weather. Everything was good on the way to Matt's work. We didn't slip or slide on the streets like yesterday. The sleet really helped out and gave us more traction. Anyway, once we dropped Matt off at work I went to drop Emily off at daycare. As we were getting closer I noticed that there weren't any cars in the parking lot and then I saw that all the lights were off in the building. The daycare was closed today. We checked the local closings and didn't see the daycare on there. I had to call work and my boss told me just to go home and not worry about coming in. After we got back home I was watching the news and saw that her daycare was closed. I just didn't watch the 'Business closings'. We were just watching the school closings. So, after all of that Emily and I had a fun Snow Day together.

Here is a picute of the ice on our poor baby tree in our front yard...

... and on the grass.
I bundled Emily up to go outside for a few minutes. It was way too cold to stay out any longer.
Emily was really attached to her baby doll today. She was telling her baby to say 'cheese' while I was taking her picture.
She kept wrapping her baby up in this little blanket.
These next few pictures would not load up right. She really wanted to go down the slide.
She had ice all over her once she climbed up the side.
She climbed up the slide all by herself.
