Well, as Matt put it, Emily officially became a little girl yesterday. She got her ears pierced. She has been asking to get them pierced, just out of the blue, for the past few days. Matt and Emily have been cooped up in the house for the past three days, while I've been at work, since we've had the big snow and ice storm come through. So, we decided to go to the mall last night to get out of the house. I asked Emily if she wanted to get her ears pierced and she said yep and was all excited. She was even climbing up in the chair before one of the girls came over to see if she could help us.
I picked out Emily's earrings while she picked out her sucker. LOL! She sat in Matt's lap while the lady was getting everything ready. Before the lady put the gun up to Emily's ear he was saying "It's okay, it's okay." I was laughing and told him that she hadn't even done it yet. When the lady did the first ear I was afraid that Emily would cry or not want to have the other ear done. But, no. She didn't flinch or cry or make a noise. The lady did the other one and Emily said "Where's my sucker?" What a little stinker.
She really surprised us on that one and was so proud of her new earrings. She was showing them off by tossing her hair on each side. They look so cute and every time I look at her it's weird to see diamond earrings in her ears. I'm just not used to it. I really wanted to have them done when she was a baby, but just didn't have the guts to do it. I don't know why. It's not like I was having them done. Anyways, I was really impressed with how she acted and the lady couldn't believe how good she was through it too. Here are some pictures of her and her new bling.
She was being quite silly too and wouldn't take a serious picture.

Projects
Sorry I've been neglecting the blog for a while. I've been busy making different projects for friends who are having babies and some for Emily. Here is a valentine frame that I made a few weeks ago. They are so easy and fun to make.
I had two friends who are both having baby boys. These are the gift bags that I made for their presents. The initials are for the first letter of the boys names.

I wanted to do something with the boys' names on them and this is what I came up with.

I also made them each a baby wipes case, but I forgot to take a picture of them before I gave the presents to my friends. Oh well, I will be making a bunch more in the near future. As if I really have that much time on my hands. But, I figured I would make some up and see if I can sell them somewhere. I have some ideas but I need to make a bunch first.

Christmas Program
I completely forgot about this video from Emily's Christmas program at her school. Her class sang two songs: Deck the Halls and We Wish you a Merry Christmas. I found the perfect shirt for the program for her at Kohl's. It says Fa-La-La-La-La. She loved signing that part of the song in Deck the Halls. Matt took the video and he didn't even get the whole song. Or the other one. Oh, well.

Christmas Pictures
I'm a little late at posting these pictures from Christmas. It's been a crazy past few weeks and this was my first weekend off with Matt in a while. We finally took down all of our Christmas decorations except for the outside ones. It's just too cold to go take down all the stuff outside.
The first of these pictures are from Christmas with my parents. They came up a week before christmas to watch Emily on a Saturday and we exchanged gifts with them. Emily got this new Snow White cleaning set and she just loves it. She always gets it out when she sees us cleaning something.

My mom and dad got Emily this new leopard coat from Gymboree. I love it!! It's a little big which is perfect since we can use it for next year.
We got my dad this old fashioned record player that has been modernized and also plays cd's tapes, and can play an MP3 player.
My grandma got Emily a leopard pj set that also has a matching robe. Too cute!!
These next pictures are with Matt's parents.
Emily's 'Sweet Cheeks' :)
All of Emily's presents from Matt's parents have Disney Princess wrapping paper.
Here are a few of me and Emily taking silly pictures before Matt's parents finally made it to our house.
Finally get to open some presents. We got her this Ariel doll the day after Thanksgiving and she was with us when we bought it. She wanted to open it then and we told her it was for Christmas. Last year we were able to buy her gifts when she was with us and she didn't really know what it was, but this year she remembered and kept asking for it. I tried to hide it so she would forget about it, but she found it in our closet. She was finally glad to get it.
Daddy's Star Wars dish set from Emily.
Matt's dad got Emily and I some Angels with our birth month and stone on them.
Matt got me a finger print proof trash can. Yeah!! As soon as I would clean our other one, there would always be little fingerprints on it from someone.
Matt also got me a cordless vaccuum for the kitchen. It is wonderful. You know you've been married to long when you get presents like this and a trash can. Oh, he also got me a new printer since someone used to stick their binkies in our other one when she was little. It just hasn't printed the same since then.
