Happy Halloween!!

Emily was a cute little witch for Halloween today. They had a big party in her class today and by the time I came to pick her up she was already on a sugar high. Once we got home she was going through everything in her bag and wanted to eat all of the candy she got.
This is some of the candy she got into. We went Trick or Treating to a few houses surrounding our house. She was holding so tight to us and didn't quite understand what was going on until after a few houses. After that we met up with Chris and Mckayla at the mall. Jessi had to work tonight. We ate dinner with them and then let the girls play and run around in the little play area that the mall has.

After we got home tonight, Emily took everything out of her bucket and started checking out all the candy she got. I kept telling her that is was yucky hoping she wouldn't want to eat it all. She was making funny faces and saying that each piece of candy was 'eww gross'.

Dancing with the Stars

Last night Emily and I had the tv to ourselves. Matt had to work late last night and didn't get home until after ten. We watched the Charlie Brown Pumpkin special and then I gave her a bath. When we came back into the living room Dancing with the Stars was on. We don't normally watch that show because we are usually watching a movie that comes out on Tuesdays. Anyway, Emily saw the people on the show all dancing and she was showing me all of her moves. She even had to take her pants off for it. I think she saw some ladies with just tights on their legs instead of pants as their costume. If I was sitting down she kept telling me to get up so I could dance with her. I was so worn out from her last night that I went to bed before Matt got home.

She's also been doing lots of dare devil stunts recently. She'll jump off of chairs and she's been doing somersaults. I think she will be either in dance or gymnastics when she gets a little older.

Fright Fest at Daycare

Last night, Friday night, was Fright Fest at Emily's Daycare. It was a little Halloween carnival. All of the workers at the daycare put a lot of work into it and we were very impressed. They had Trunk or Treat in the parking lot for the kids and all sorts of games inside and a Haunted House. Matt and I took pictures with Emily right after we got there. All of the kids were in their costumes and Emily wouldn't let go of us. It took her a little while to warm up to everything that was going on.

She played a little duck game and each of the ducks had a number on the bottom of them. They got to pick a prize out of different buckets that matched the number to a duck.

They also had face painting. She picked out what she wanted and the color too.
I couldn't get her check cleaned off all of the way once we were home, so it's still stained a very faint purple in the shape of a heart. She sat very still during the entire time and didn't touch it once her teacher was finished.

They also had a booth set up to decorate a cookie. She choose a pumpkin with orange icing and lots of different sprinkles. She kept pointing for another teacher to add more.

She mostly just licked the icing and sprinkles off of the cookie.

They also had a cupcake walk. One of the teachers helped Emily since she was the smallest one doing it. They each got a pixie stick if they didn't win a cupcake. Emily kept bringing it to me and wasn't sure about it once I poured a little bit in her mouth. She kept making a funny face.

'
This was one of the tables in the Haunted House. Emily kept saying 'EWWW GROSS' at the brains. Of course she didn't even know what they are. She heard the older kids saying it.

She didn't win a cupcake. The girl walking with her gave one to Emily anyway. It's still sitting in the box. I don't think Emily even knew she got one. We'll just keep it that way. She keeps pointing to the candy bowl and asking for more candy to eat.

We had a really good time. After about an hour and a half, Matt and I were ready to leave. We tried to leave twice and Emily was throwing the biggest fit ever and didn't want to leave. She threw herself on the floor outside and was kicking and screaming. Matt took her back inside to let her go through the Haunted House again. He's such a softie. We tried again and just made a mad dash to the car. Everyone thought she got scared in the Haunted House. I had to explain to her teachers that she was having so much fun and didn't want to leave.

After we got home that night, Emily was walking in the kitchen with a Sonic drink in one arm and rubbing one of her eyes with her other and she kept saying 'I tired'. I have never heard her say that. I guess she wore herself out with all the fun she had.

Care Bear Party

Sunday was our little friend Mckayla's birthday. She turned one and had a Care Bear party.
Mckayla got a pink chair just like Emily's and Emily kept wanting to sit in the chair. We had to keep telling her that it was Mckayla's.

Emily and Matt found the Care Bear masks. She had a hard time seeing out of it.

Two Year Pictures

We went and got our pictures taken a few weeks ago at Target. Here are some of the pictures we got of Emily. She would not smile at all except in one of the pictures.

These collage pictures are printed out on 10x13's and I had a hard time scanning them on our scanner. The scanner is made for a 9x12 sheet of paper. So they didn't turn out as well on the computer.

Trick or Treat

I was trying to get a cute picture of Emily in one of her several Halloween outfits. This was the best picture of the outfit.

But, this was the cutest picture of her. I can't believe I got this one. Usually I am a second off and catch her looking away or making a weird face. She looks so grown up in this picture.

Go Pokes!!

Yesterday we went to the OSU game, in Stillwater, against Texas A&M. Matt won the tickets at his work and we also met up with some of his friends from work at Eskimo Joe's. I told Matt we better get there early because I had a feeling it might be busy. Matt said he didn't think it would be since everyone does the tailgating before the games. Ya, right. There were sooo many people everywhere. On game days it is all open seating and you pretty much just have to find your own table. People are just standing everywhere and if you happen to get a table there aren't even enough chairs. Matt's buddy from work got a table while other people were still sitting there. We sat with them until they left. This is a picture of us sitting outside the exit of Joe's.

Emily kept taking Matt's hat off and putting it on her head.

Matt was really excited to see the stadium. They have really made the stadium nice since we've been there. We had pretty good seats. We were in the first section of seats down by the field. Matt took this picture of the band getting ready to go out onto the field for the pregame stuff.
Here's Pistol Pete. Emily kept waving at him and saying Hi.
She was really into clapping her hands to the music before the game started.

Another picture of the band.

This was around the first time when everyone started cheering. She didn't know really what was going on and started crying.

There was this group of older men who were sitting behind us with some of Matt's friends from work. Right before it was time for halftime they left to go to some bar down the street from the stadium. The older guys came back around the end of the third quarter. They kept saying how cute Emily was. Matt got out the camera because she kept saying 'no-no' and pointing her finger at the other team when they had the ball and then one of the guys behind us said he would take our picture for us. They were soo drunk and this is our picture from a drunk guy. He took it before Matt could turn around all of the way.

These are a couple of pictures of my OSU pumpkin I bought at a pumpkin patch here in Edmond. I thought I could paint one myself like it, but I figured by the time I bought all of the supplies it would probably cost more than the price of it already painted. So I just bought it there.

Here is a video that Matt took of the pregame stuff. It brought back old memories to Matt since he did this for about four years when he was in the marching band at OSU. You can see the horse 'Bullet' riding through the band toward the end. Emily loved it when the horse would run across the field after every touchdown. She kept saying horse as 'hor' and was cracking us up.

This video was taken when the OSU football players were coming out onto the field with the smoke. Everyone was cheering and Emily was clapping but crying at the same time. It was so funny. After she got used to the noise she was so good the rest of the night and didn't get fussy or cry the whole rest of the night. Even when we were making that long trip back to the car after the game. I forgot to say that the other team came out right after our guys came on the field and that's why Matt is booing.

We got a lot of compliments on Emily with her being so into everything. We've been lucky with taking her to other events like Sesame Street and the Harlem Globetrotters and now this. She loved every minute of the game. Everytime we sat back down and then a big play would happen we had to stand back up because Emily wanted to. If I was holding her she would reach out for Matt because I was too short and she could see better with him. I was surprised that the big loud bangs didn't scare her after each touchdown because I about jumped each time. She also loved giving high fives to everyone after each big play and touchdowns. She also wanted to shake Matt's keys like everyone else when they would kick the ball. We had a great time last night and I hope we will be able to do it again sometime. It was neat for Matt and I to take her back to campus where we spent five years of our lives there to go to a fun event and to see how she reacted to it. It was a great night.

I forgot to say that we kept trying to get Emily to say O-S-U when they were doing the chants. She would get the O and the U out but kept skipping the S. I told her she was no child of ours if she kept saying OU.

Emily's Birthday Party

Ok, sorry it took me so long to post pictures of Emily's party. She had an Abby Caddaby and Elmo party. Well, mostly Abby. She's more girly than Elmo.

This little Elmo sings 'Happy Birthday' and one other song and says different phrases. Matt and his dad also got an Elmo balloon that sings too when you hit it. She kept going back and forth between the two.
Sam was helping Emily open her present from him.
She would lift the clothes up for a second and then tossed them to the side.
This was one of the big presents she got. A tricycle with a helmet and knee and elbow pads. I told Matt we need to get a little horn and basket for it. She wanted to ride the bike, but we still had a lot of presents to open.

My mom got Emily a Disney Princess dress-up clothes set. It all came in a neat treasure chest. These are the glass slippers that came with it. She likes to wear them and make loud noises with them in the kitchen on the tile floor.
Sam needed to test out Emily's bike...
...while Emily tested out the cake.
They both looked so cute sitting at the little table. Emily was more into her piece of cake.

Sam wanted to try out the clothes too.
After the party we went to eat dinner with Josh, Shannon, Sam, and Ben and both sets of grandparents. Emily and Sam really liked coloring. They were both sharing nicely with each other. Well, at least during this part.

After we got back to the house, Emily wanted to watch 'My Little Pony'. Emily and Sam both climbed up into my mom's lap to watch it. We have to watch her with her DVD's because she will go into the Star Wars room and pick out a movie and take the DVD out of the case and bring it to you. She's already ruined a few movies with her fingerprints all over them.
The next night we went to eat with Jessi, Chris, and Mckayla for Matt and Emily's birthday. They remembered how Emily really liked to vaccuum...
... and so they got her a mini 'My Dirt Devil'. Emily loves it and keeps vaccuuming around the house. I just wish it really worked though.
Every night she brings us her helmet and pads for us to help her put them on. She loves snapping and unsnapping the helmet straps.

Here are a couple of videos from the day.

This was on the third try of blowing out the candle. Everytime she would do it Matt wasn't in a good view of it or he forgot to turn the camera on. It was really funny when she started blowing her bangs up and at one point blew a raspberry.

Thanks to everyone who came down for Emily's party and for all of the wonderful gifts and for making this a great second birthday for Emily. We are so blessed to have such loving family and friends. We love you all!!

As Abby Caddaby says, Twinkle Out!!
