Favorite Pictures

These are some of the pictures that were taken in Stillwater at Theta Pond on campus. They turned out so good. I had trouble trying to pick the ones I wanted to print. These were going to be a surprise for the grandparents, but we already showed them a few of them just to give them a little taste. So here are our favorites. Enjoy!

Videotaped at Work

Last week we had some scouts from Hobby Lobby, who work in the video department at corporate, come by our store. Our district manager gave them my name for the Home Accent department. They were looking for energetic people they could video tape and post on the website to promote working for the company and also to gain more customers who have never shopped at a Hobby Lobby store. Well, they came again today to actually do the taping. They had two cameras on me, a very bright light, and a microphone. I was sweating from the hot light and from being nervous. I've never done anything like that. One guy would ask me questions about my department and what I liked about it. Those were the easy questions. Then he asked me why I like working for Hobby Lobby and what is nice about the store. I pretty much had to BS my way through those. I think I have more negative things to say than positive ones. They said they really liked my answers and that they will be using my footage on the website. I guess I'll have to wait and see what they used. I felt like an idiot when the customers would walk by. They also wanted to get video of me straightening a display. I felt so goofy.

Boa

I bought this pink boa last week at Michael's. Emily sat in the cart with the boa around her neck all the way around the store. She looked like a little diva. She likes playing with it, but I keep findind little pieces of feathers everywhere. It's probably not the best thing to let an eighteen month old play with.

Harlem Globetrotters

Sunday, we went to see the Harlem Globetrotters at the Ford Center. Matt's boss was able to get tickets for all the employees and their families. I guess I really didn't know what to expect. I just thought it would be a basketball game with them doing tricks here and there. It's actually a show and it was very entertaining. Emily really liked it too. She would clap when the music started to play and the guys would start dancing to the music.

My Buddies

Emily loves her Elmo's.

Trip to Stillwater

On Saturday we went to Stillwater to pick up Emily's pictures and to visit with Josh, Shannon, and Sam. The drumline at OSU had a performance that afternoon and we went to the rehearsal. Emily loves playing with Matt's drums at home but this was the first time she has seen other people playing them and lots of them. The drumline was performing in an auditorium and it was very loud. Emily was some what scared of it just because it was loud, but then she started to warm up to it and was clapping when they were done.

Matt wanted to check out the progress on the football stadium and so these are some of the pictures he took. It was weird being back on campus, especially with a kid now. The campus was such a mess. They are doing construction everywhere. It looked like they had knocked down a few buildings and are in the process of building new ones and remodeling some other ones too.

Here is Emily checking out the stadium and the big mess. Across the street from the stadium there is a huge parking garage that is several stories high. You can tell it is in place of where some of the houses used to be that OSU bought. There were still a few houses that they were moving. Some of them were on stilts so they could be moved to another location.

We also drove by our old apartment complex. It has gone through some major changes on that block. There used to be an apartment complex across from where we lived (it was Jefferson Commons) and in place of it is a huge shopping mall and a Texas Roadhouse. Why couldn't they have that when we lived there. Matt took a video of what is there now. It's really bad and plus the wind was blowing so hard that day.

Picture Time

This was a big weekend for us. Yesterday we took Emily to the park. She loves playing outside and didn't want to leave when it was time to go. She's used to playing on slides at daycare, but they don't have swings on the toddler side of the playground. They are just on the bigger kids side. The park had swings for babies and at first she wasn't to sure of it. After we would go slide a few times she kept going over to the swings and wanted to swing some more. I had to basically pull her out of it when we were leaving.
Then today we went to Stillwater to have Emily's pictures taken. We also got to visit with Josh, Shannon, and Sam. We had lunch at Eskimo Joe's and Matt got him an Indiana Jones Eskimo Joe shirt for the movie that's coming out next month and he bought Emily her first Joe shirt too. We had lots of fun today. She's going to sleep really good tonight. She went right to bed when I put her in it. Next week we should get a CD of the pictures that my former boss took today.

Twinkle Toes

Emily let me paint her toenails today to match mine. She sat very still while I did it and didn't bother them once I was done. Her toes look so cute!!

New Bedspread

I have had my eye on this bedspread since before Christmas. I've been debating on getting it ever since and finally decided to get it since last week was my birthday. Matt was hesitant about getting it because he knew that I would want to change the curtains and everything else. I told him I wouldn't but when I put the bed together it just didn't look good with the curtains. So, I am going to gradually change them. I've picked out some curtains that go with the bedding at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. The only thing is that each panel is $40 and I don't want to spend all that much on it at once. Oh, and I think Jessi and everyone in her family has this bedding too.

Hmm... something looks different.

Silly Face

The other night Emily was sitting in her highchair eating dinner. After she was done she kept making this really funny face. I don't know where she got it from. Maybe daycare? Anyway, Matt tried to get her to do it again and these are some of her faces she was making.

18 Month Checkup

Today was Emily's 18 month checkup. She did really good today. The room that we were in is decorated with fish all over the walls. Before her doctor came in I let her run around the room and she was pointing to all of the fish on the wall. When we first got there she had a death grib on me, but she loosened up a bit before the doctor came. She also only had to get one shot. Emily didn't even cry. I was so proud of her.
Here are her stats:

22 lbs 1 oz 20th percentile
29 1/2 inches long 8th percentile

She's just a petite little girl. She's gonna take after my momma I guess.
