Phone Conversation !?!?

Emily is always grabbing my phone every chance she gets when I don't put it up high where she can't reach it. She likes mine better than hers because it actually lights up and has a cool screen with her picture on it. She was just talking and laughing away to nobody in particular. I think she was mimicing me when I talk to my mom on the phone. She is so silly. When my mom tries to talk to her on the phone she won't say a word. She just listens real intently and will push as many buttons on it as she can.

Caught in the Act

I caught her messing with the keyboard. She thinks she is so big and can do whatever Matt and I do. She also thinks she can watch Elmo on it whenever she wants to.

New Jammies

We've had to upgrade to an 18 month size in pj's. They make them so tight nowadays and her twelve month pj's were getting too small. I got these a few weeks ago at Babies R Us for six dollars. They are just too cute.

New Dance Partner

Yesterday we were playing in Emily's room and I had the radio on. She grabbed her huge Care Bear and started dancing with it and I ran to get the camera. She loves to dance when any sort of music is playing. Everytime I go to drop her off or pick her up at daycare they have music playing.

Big Helper

Last Sunday I had to work because we had inventory this past week. Matt has been so sick this whole week and I havn't had much time to do anything around the house because I've been watching and playing with Emily. As soon as we get home, she goes straight to the computer and says Bobo because she wants to watch Elmo on it. So I havn't even been able to get on the computer myself. Everytime I try to get on she comes over and wants to get on it.

Anyway, after I got home from work on Sunday, Matt ended up going to one of those walk in clinics to see what was wrong with him. The doctor said he had a bacterial infection in his throat and a sinus infection. He's also been having a high fever. While Matt was at the doctor I decided to start some laundry. Emily is starting to want to help us do stuff around the house. She likes to help put the clothes in the dryer and help put some of her dishes in the dishwasher. I might as well let her help out now because she's not going to want to do them when she gets old enough to say she doesn't want to do any chores.

New Do

The other day I was just playing around with Emily's hair and I went and found a couple of little clips to put in her hair. I havn't ever tried any pigtails because her hair wasn't ever long enough. It's starting to get long in the front but the back is still short. She kept pulling the clips out of her hair and putting them right in her mouth. That's the last time I will use those hairclips. When do kids stop putting everything in their mouths? I'm ready to get past this stage.

Present

Jessi and Chris came by work last week to give me Emily's Christmas present. We weren't able to get together with them so they could see her open it so we let her open it the other day and taped it so they could see her. She had been eyeing it up on our new bar stools and she ripped the bow off of it. So we let her finish it off. She loves her new toy. It's a cookie tray that plays music and the cookies are in different shapes and colors. She will just carry it around the house and stack the cookies on top of each other. It kept her entertained for about fifteen minutes the other night. Thanks again Chris, Jessi, and Mckayla.

Elmo!! (aka Bobo)

We didn't know what we started when we bought Tickle Me Elmo for Emily. She loves him now and calls him Bobo. Everywhere we go she yells out Bobo when she sees him on the toy aisle or in books or on T.V. I finally figured out when Sesame Street comes on in the morning, but we are never home during that time. Occasionally I work late on Wednesdays and we might watch it then. We've discovered it on YouTube and I'll let her watch it on there. It's so funny, she'll just sit at the computer and watch it and then will mess with the mouse and keyboard. She thinks she is such a big girl. This seems to be our daily ritual when we get home from work and hey it keeps her occupied for a little while so I can put stuff up and check the mail.

La la la la, la la la la Elmo's World. Elmo loves his goldfish and his crayon too....That's Elmo's World. It's sad when you know the songs to kids shows.

Here she is getting all excited about Elmo. I kept turning the chair to see if she would look at me, but she was glued to that screen.

This was taken the day after Christmas. It was one of those days when I didn't have to go in until noon. She liked watching Elmo on the big screen.

Oh, I just heard on the radio yesterday that Sesame Street Live is coming to OKC. The theme is When Elmo grows up. I think we are going to take Emily to it. I looked it up online and it's coming to the Ford Center at the beginning of March. The tickets are only eleven dollars per person if anyone else is interested in going.

Car Seat is Here!

Yeah, our new car seat is here. The UPS man delivered it tonight after we got home from work. As soon as I took it out of the box Emily was heading staight to it and got in. She really likes it. Now we can move the other car seat into Matt's car and put this one in my car. She's stylin' now.

Bow Heads

Sunday, our friends from Stillwater, Josh, Shannon, and Sam, came down to Edmond for the day and hung out with us after lunch. We were finally able to exchange our gifts for the kids since we havn't seen them since the beginning of December. After Emily opened her present, and helped Sam open his, she pulled the bow off and kept putting it on everybody's head.

They are only six months apart and Sam seems so much bigger than Emily. She was trying to put the bow on his head on her tippy toes. Sam was also showing us his singing skills.

Emily loves Matt's new Rock Band game. She always goes to the drums and pulls the sticks down. She drums on everything and we have to keep getting on to her to just drum on the drums and not the T.V. Here she is dancing to the song as Josh is drumming.

Oy Vay! Not Another Checkup

Today Emily had her 15 month checkup. She got two shots-one in each leg. She did pretty good and only cried for a few seconds. Here are her stats:

Weight: 20.5 lbs 20th percentile
Height: 28.5 inches 10th percentile

I thought she weighed more than that because she feels so heavy to us. Emily's pediatrician told us to start to introduce the potty chair to her. Yeah, We'll see how that goes.

Happy Birthday Dad!!

Today is my dad's 50 something birthday. I'm not sure if I should reveal the exact age, but Happy Birthday Dad!! We love you.

Happy New Year to Matt!!

Looks more like Emily, huh? Matt got a little extra money last week from working overtime for inventory at his work. He worked a twelve hour day and thought he needed to reward himself. So, New Year's Eve we went driving around to all the stores to try to find 'Rock Band', a new video game that just came out. I think Emily was having just as much fun with it. She thinks it's her new toy. Looks like we have another drummer in the family. The game came with the drumset, and guitar, and a microphone to sing with. Not that any of us can sing. Matt was mostly just screaming into the mic. We tried to get Emily to say something into it, but she just kept trying to eat the microphone. Somehow I got Matt's hand in the picture and didn't realize it until I uploaded the picture and I don't think there is a way to edit something on here. Oh well.

No critiquing Josh!!

Coming Soon-New Car Seat

Last week when we were at Toys R Us I saw this car seat there. I went there yesterday to buy it because we desperatly need a new car seat for Matt's car. He is still using the infant car seat for Emily when he picks her up and takes her to daycare. She barely fits in it anymore. Anyway, they were out of it and they said they didn't know when they were going to get anymore. They said it is one of the most popular car seats there. So, I came home and looked it up on their website and ordered it. It is so cute with the brown and pink and of course the leopard print. Plus it turns into a booster seat for when Emily gets a little bigger. Of course we will trade out the pink floral print in my car and put it in Matt's truck. Matt's already so sick of pink. He better get used to it.
