13 Months Old Today

Emily got her pictures taken last week at daycare. They said she cried pretty much the entire time. They couldn't get her to smile or do anything as you can see in these pictures. I can't tell which one to get. The one without any expression on her face or the one without any expression on her face. Oh well. They are still cute.

We have this picture hanging in our hallway at home. She got this picture taken at daycare too back in May. She was only eight months old at the time. It's amazing how much she has changed in just several months. Matt and I both have noticed how she has lost a lot of her baby fat. Her fat rolls on her arms aren't as defined anymore. It's just sad to think that she's not a baby anymore.

A Day at the Park

Ok, more like five minutes. We found a really nice park in Edmond yesterday and decided to take Emily there for the first time. We don't really play outside with her because we don't have any toys for the yard and Saturday was a beautiful day and the weather was just perfect. We tried the swing first thinking we would warm her up to everything, but as you can see from the video she didn't seem to like it. I'm sure in about another year she will love it.

When we tried the slide she seemed okay with it, but would hold on tight. After she slid down the slide a few times she got a little more confident. Then a little boy came over to slide and she started to show off a little.

One Small Girl, One Big Mess!!

This little girl sure knows how to make a mess. She pulls all of the books of the shelf that she can reach. Then she goes to her toy chest and pulls out the animals and other toys that she can reach too.

Booty Shakin' Santa

Last weekend, we went to Wal-Mart and went down the Christmas aisles to see what they had. We found these characters that danced and sang to christmas songs. Matt found the booty shakin' Santa and Emily went crazy over it. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen her do. We went to Wal-Mart again today and went to find those singing characters. This time we had the camera with us. She didn't go as crazy as the first time but it was still funny. Towards the end of it you can see her grabbing Santa's booty.

Standing Up

Well, the little munchkin has finally figured out how to stand up on her own without holding on to anything. She's been getting pretty brave and letting go of the table or whatever else she holds on to to see if she can balance herself. I have video of her standing up, but somehow the blog won't let me upload it. I'll have to see if I can get another one of her standing on her own.
At least you can see her in mid-action of doing it.

She was so proud of herself that she had to start clapping and then she fell right after. At least those diapers have a lot of padding and she's not far from the ground.

Future Gymnast

Almost everyday, Emily gets into position to be flipped over. She gets her head down on the floor and sticks her booty straight up in the air waiting to be flipped over. She just loves it and wants you to keep doing it. By this time she was getting tired and it was almost bedtime. We were hoping she would do it one more time so we could get it on video.

Coloring with Crayons

I forgot that Emily got some crayons and markers for her birthday from Josh, Shannon, and Sam. I wasn't sure if she would be old enough to know what to do with them. But at daycare she supposedly colored a haunted house and a ghost. Oh, I forgot to mention that she has moved up from the infant room to the toddler room. Last week they were transitioning her into the toddler room and would let her be in there for a few hours every other day. There were two other little boys moving up with her and the teachers said the boys were crying in there a lot and Emily did really good. She started full time with the toddlers yesterday and she held on so tight to me and wouldn't go to her new teacher even though she see's the teacher every day. Today she held on tight again and was crying when I left. She kept reaching her arms up to me for me to pick her up. She hasn't done this in a long time. Usually when I took her into the infant room she would just ignore me and play with the toys that were around her. They say she does really good the rest of the day though.

She miraculously wrote her name on the piece of paper. NO, not really. Matt was trying to show her how to write her name. She was mostly interested in chewing up the crayons.

Mckayla's Here!!

For those of you who don't know already, our friends, Chris and Jessi, had their baby, Mckayla Lauren Brack, on Friday. She is so tiny and weighed 6 pounds 9 ounces and is 20 1/2 inches long, if I remembered correctly. We went to see them after we got off of work. I don't know how Jessi did it but she had Mckayla au natural. By the time they got to the hospital she was already dialated to a seven and it was pretty much to late to get an epidural. We took our camera to the hospital to get some pictures, but our camera was dead when I tried to turn it on. We are going to visit them in the next few days and hopefully we can get some pictures of her then. We wanted to wait to let them rest up from the delivery and all of their company they had over for the weekend. I know how overwhelming it can be.

Super Baby!!

We bought this little SuperBaby onsie at Six Flags. They had all sorts of onsies. When Matt saw it he said we had to get it.

I was trying to get a picture of the back of it so you can see the cape that is attached to it.

Lil' Ladybug

She's making a mad dash outa here. She didn't want her picture taken.

Her new thing now is that she lifts her arms up everytime she wants you to pick her up.

Matt's parents have there house decorated really cute for the Halloween and Fall Season. They really go all out. I can't wait to see what they do for Christmas.
She was getting a little restless here.
I think this one is really funny. She's looking to the side as if she's saying what are you doing to me.

Six Flags Trip

We went to Sherman, Texas this weekend to visit Matt's parents. We went to Six Flags on Saturday. They were having Fright Fest there for the month of October and they had it decorated all spooky. It was pretty busy there and Matt and I ended up riding only one ride. It was some Batman rollercoaster. My neck was so sore the next day. I guess I'm just not as young as I use to be. This picture was taken right before Matt and I left to go wait in line for about thirty minutes.

Matt had to get a picture of the Batmobile.

Here is Emily waiting for us to come back from the ride. Pops and Grandma took her over to a spot that sprays a mist of water out to cool you off during the hot days. They said she loved it and would stick out her arms and legs when it sprayed them.

This is right after we got off the ride. We were trying to wave to Emily. I don't know if she realized it was us. We were pretty far away.

Carousel

We ended up going to a mall in Frisco, Texas after we were done at Six Flags. The mall had a carousel there and so we thought Emily might like it. She didn't seem to sure of it at first, but she liked it and would smile after she would pass us.

Goodbye Hoochie!!

Well, today was the day I had to say goodbye to my car. I know this sounds stupid, but I got a little teary-eyed. Soon after I got the car my sister and I named it Hoochie. We were listening to the radio one day and trying to figure out a name for my car. Then all of a sudden a country song came on, I can't remember the exact name of it but it had something to do with Chattahoochie. That's where we got the name Hoochie.
It's weird, yesterday I was flipping through the stations that were programmed in my new car and that exact song came on. It reminded me of when Kaci and I came up with the name. I guess I'm to sentimental about the car. I've been through a lot with it. It's taken me from my parents house to college, getting married and going on our honeymoon, and then bringing our baby home from the hospital. Not to mention numerous roadtrips. It also means a lot to me because my dad so lovingly picked out that car for me. He knew my favorite color was purple and he got me a purple car.
I guess it's now time to make new memories with our new car. I know I won't miss spending hundreds of dollars every few months to get something else fixed on the Cavalier.

Leopard Girl

At Gymboree, they have this new line of clothing that is so cute. It all has leopard print on them. My mom and I went there on Friday and I was debating whether to get something or not. Their stuff is so expensive and the only time I buy a few items from there is when they are on sale. I figured by the time the new line would be on sale they wouldn't have it in her size. We went back to the mall on Saturday after we got our new car and I bought this cute little shirt. I already had the little leggings that my mom got Emily for Christmas. I finally had something to go with them. We also found the bow at Dillard's. She wasn't to happy at me when I was trying to take her picture.

She really wanted her snacks. They are little fruit chews that are actually pretty good.

Mmm...yummy!!

Fish Face

I noticed today that Emily kept making a fish face. She was doing it over and over again so I had to go find the camera.

New Car

Well, it finally happened, we had to put my car down. I had a 97 purple Cavalier, and on Thursday Emily and I were on our way to Tulsa and my car broke down on the side of the road. Luckily we were only fifteen minutes out of Edmond. It was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. It just makes you mad when nobody stops to help you, they just stare at you when they drive by. A cop drove by too and didn't even stop. Oh well. I'm just glad I was able to get a hold of Matt and a tow truck company.

The car was going to cost too much to get it fixed, so my parents came down from Tulsa to help us look for a new car and to watch Emily when we were in the office. So we ended up getting a 2003 Nissan Exterra. I've always liked them and I told Matt that's the car I want if we ever decide to get a new car. I really wanted some sort of SUV since we have Emily and a big stroller. The stroller barely fit in the trunk of our Cavalier. Well, we have lots of room now.

So here are some pictures of our new car. I just love it. The salesman told us it has only been there for about a week. When we were pulling into the dealership we saw someone else test driving it. I hope they didn't have their hearts set on it because we own it now. The color is called Granite. It is a silvery tan color.

Decorations

Here are some pictures of the decorations I have put up around the house. I've been on vacation this week and there's really nothing else to do, well besides watch a baby all day.

Okay, sorry Jessi and Chris, I stole your idea of the pumpkin family. I was going to put the pumpkins out there anyway and then I saw how you guys painted your names on them. So I couldn't resist doing the same.

Emily looks so different in this picture. It's so cute, you can see her two top teeth coming through. She is finally getting them in and two more on top. (The one's beside the two top front teeth.) If you click on the picture it will show up bigger and then you can see them.

One Cool Lil' Mama!!

Emily's had these zebra sunglasses for a while now and today she actually wore them. Most of the time when I put them on her she pulls them right off. Today we went by Hobby Lobby really quick and she wore them from the car all the way into the store. I put them on top of her head, like how I wear mine, and she let them stay on her head for a while. She thought she was so cool.

Can Anybody Hear Me?

Matt got a new headpiece for his Xbox 360 over the weekend. Emily found his old one and kept trying to put it on her head. Then she started to eat the wires.

12 Month Checkup

Yesterday, Emily had her twelve month checkup. She did pretty good until the nurse came in to give her the shots. She got a shot in each leg and then the flu shot in her arm. They only gave her half of the flu shot so we have to go back in thirty days to get the rest. They also had to take blood in her arm. I was relieved when it only took the nurse one time to poke her. The last time she had her blood taken was when we had to take her to the emergency room for a high temperature. The nurses poked her at least twenty times in several places and could never get it threaded. She had bruises up and down her arms and legs that time. Here are her stats:

18 pounds 1 oz. (20th percentile)
27 inches long (5th percentile)

Her pediatrician says she is just a petite little thing. I also tried giving her some eggs and milk today. Her doctor said it was okay to try the allergic foods to see how she does and if she might be allergic to them. I've also learned, from being home this week on vacation, that she really likes green beans and corn. The green beans were from Billy Sim's BBQ and the corn was from Chili's. No wonder she liked them so much. I just looked over at her and she is pulling everything out of my purse. Out of all the toys she got for her birthday she'd rather play with a pen and some tooth floss. And now she's trying to hand me a tampon. Hope that wasn't too much information. :)

Entertainment for the Night

Friday night, before Emily's birthday, both sets of grandparents came down to stay with us for the weekend. Before we went to dinner Emily was entertaining us by walking back and forth with her walker. She was so funny that night. When everyone was clapping for her she would stop to sit down and clap with everyone else.

Lil' Miss September

Emily and Sam were playing before the party started.

Matt and his dad, Pops, went to the store to pick up some latches that go on cabinets to baby proof them and came home with a green four wheeler. It's pretty neat. Grandpa has a couple of four wheelers at his home. I think she's ready to go four wheeling with him now.

Emily had fun giving Sam an extra push.

So Many Presents

I thought this video was funny. My Uncle Rob, Aunt Traci, and cousin Bethany came down from Tulsa and brought this car for Emily. I think she likes this present the best.

Some Presents

Emily couldn't wait to get her new car out of the box.

Sam really liked it too.

Out of no where Emily leans out to give Sam a hug. I don't think he liked it as much as Emily did.

My mom was so proud of herself when she found this Cabbage Patch Doll for her. Emily wasn't sure of it yet.
Grandpa had to help her get to know her new doll named Kaci Fernanda. This wasn't planned at all, but my sister's name is Kaci too and the doll's name is spelled the exact same way. Hopefully when she realizes who people are she won't be confused between Aunt Kaci and her babydoll Kaci.
