Gimme!!

Emily always tries to reach for some sort of remote or game controller. We went out and bought her a toy remote that lights up, plays music, and has different sayings but she still goes for the real one. She even has her own little blue controller. Notice she has her controller and a real remote, but she still goes for Matt's controller. She is a little stinker.

New Outfit

Emily and I went to the mall the other day and went to Dillard's. They had a sale on all of their summer clothes. I got this outfit for six dollars. When we got home I realized that it came with a little hat. It's already to small. It looked funny on her head. For some reason the whole outfit reminded me of Raggedy Ann even though it's not the same colors.

I later remembered that we had this headband. It matches the outfit perfectly.

Watchin' TV

Emily likes to watch cartoons on TV. When we are watching them in our bed she'll crawl to the end of the bed and hang on to the railing. The other day she got stuck. We usually watch the Disney Channel. They have some really neat cartoons on there now. I even like to watch them.

It's neat to see her reactions to the different shows. Sometimes she'll laugh just at the right moment when there is a joke. I know she doesn't know what it means, but it's funny to see her interact with them. She'll even dance to the music and clap her hands.

Sick Baby :(

I really like where Emily goes to daycare. The teachers seem to look out for her and the other kids there. But, I hate the fact the Emily brings home every little cold or other sickness. Last week, there was a case of Hands, Feet, and Mouth Disease going around the daycare. A family with three or four kids brought it there. The youngest one is a few weeks older than Emily and she caught it from him. I've never heard of it until now. The pediatrician told us it takes about 5-7 days to get over it and there is no cure for it. It is a virus that we just have to let it take its course. It sucks because the daycare called us yesterday and told us we had to come get Emily and she can't come back until it is all cleared up. So, Matt and I have been trying to figure out what to do this week. Matt's staying home with her until Wednesday and then I will stay home with her the rest of the week. This is when I wish we lived closer to family that could watch her when we are at work. I read in a book somewhere that it's almost good for them to be in daycare and get sick that way they can build up there immune systems. I don't know. I guess so, but she ends up giving it to us too. Luckily not this one.

Little Doggie

Emily's new thing now is that she'll carry something around in her mouth when she's crawling or playing with something. I kept asking her if she was a little doggie and she would shake her head no. It was pretty funny.

Lil' Cheerleader

Emily is all ready for the new football season. Hopefully OSU will be a lot better this year. These aren't the best pictures, but I thought they were cute. She got this cheerleader outfit at one of our showers we had. It's a 3-6 month outfit and I figured we better get a picture of her in it before she is too big for it.

Get this thing off of me.

I'm sure any OU fan would laugh at this, but she really wanted her Cheerios.

Ahh, relief.

Brushing Teeth

I got this toothbrush for her a few months ago. But, the two teeth that she has weren't even all the way out yet. I noticed the other day that they are all the way out now. She doesn't really brush them. She mostly chews on the bristles. For some reason she likes the way the baby toothpaste tastes. I tasted it to see what it was like and it's disguisting.

New PJ's

I bought these pj's at Old Navy the other day. She has pretty much outgrown all of her other bed clothes. These are a size 12-18 months, but they are pretty tight already. I guess they are supposed to be like that. I don't think I am sassy, but I'll buy almost anything that is leopard print. Plus they were on clearance.

Cookies!!

I gave Emily a Chips Ahoy chewie cookie the other day for the first time. She really liked it!!

After she finished her cookie, she had lots of energy to burn off. So, I put her in her bouncer. She was going crazy in it. We have it on video, but I'm not that advanced with putting videos on the blog.

My Day At Daycare

They tell me that Emily is one of their favorites in the Infant Room at her daycare. I wonder if they say that to all of the parents. Last week when I dropped Emily off, they had a stack of pictures laying in her crib that they took of her over the past several months. They said that they have taken more pictures of her than any of the other babies and didn't want any of the parents to be jealous, so they gave me the stack.

The girls say that Emily loves splash day, which is every Wednesday, during the summer. She pretty much gets the workers all wet when she starts splashing in the water.

Emily can be a pretty messy eater at times. My dad would hate this picture because he doesn't like messy faces.

When Emily is sitting up and she wants to lay down, she always does the splits to lay on her belly. In this picture she feel asleep while doing the splits. I don't know how she does it. She is pretty limber I guess.

Eating Paper

We received this magazine in the mail the other day and as you can see Emily got a hold of it. She likes to rip the pages apart and then rip smaller pieces off of the pages. It's funny, Emily is looking at me saying ... what, did I do something?

Birthday Hint!

I found this chair on the internet the other day and it matches Emily's bedding for her room. Just a hint for her birthday. Here is the link to the website: http://www.babysupermall.com/main/products/lai/lai38035-item.html

Rock On!!

Matt got out his guitar hero game today. Emily liked watching daddy rock out to all of the songs. She was laughing and clapping a lot. Matt even let her hold the guitar. It was kind of funny because she was trying to hit the buttons but she couldn't reach them.

New Car Seat

Well, we finally broke down and got a new car seat earlier than we wanted. We were trying to wait until her birthday to get one that way she can sit forward instead of backwards. I hate having her sit backwards because I can't see her and the air conditioner doesn't get to her. Everytime we take her out of the car, her cheeks are all red and her hair is all wet from sweating so much. So, we went to Target today and got this really cute carseat. I promise you she really does like it. She was mad because she didn't want to be in it at that time. Matt put it in the car as soon as we got out of Target and she was clapping her hands.

Mmm... Popsicle

You have to think of this as Homer Simpson saying it. Emily enjoyed her popsicle a lot. As you can see in the picture, she didn't want to give it up.

Ridin' The Horsey

One of Matt's co-workers gave us this horse a few months ago. Emily was a little small for it then. She found it in her room today and I put her on it. When you rock it the horse whinnies and then plays music. She seemed to really like it now that she is a little more stable when sitting on something.

NO NO Emily!!

This one's for Chris. Everytime we turn our heads, Emily is headed for the entertainment stuff. I guess she's her daddy's girl.

Can I Play This One Daddy?

Emily pulled out one of Matt's video games and was so excited about it. She kept bouncing it up and down and then decided to eat it.

Standing

I had to work late the other night and when I came home Matt told me that Emily pulled herself up to a standing position by her piano. This little girl is a very stubborn girl and only does things when she wants to do them. My boss told me, babies are not trained monkeys. We've been trying to work on standing with her for a while and then all of the sudden, almost over night, she started doing it. She is not very stable yet to stand without holding anything. She has also figured out that there are more knobs on the other side of the piano that make different noises and play music.

Mr. Beaver

Before Emily was born, Matt and I were at the mall one day, and he picked out this little beaver at the Gymboree store. It just looks so silly. At first I thought it was a chipmunk. I layed the beaver next to Emily in her swing when she was just a few days old. It looked like she was scared of it. But, now she loves it, hugs on it, and also chews on it.

Booty High

This is how Emily sleeps. With her legs tucked under her and her booty up in the air.

New Toy

Matt came home with a new toy for Emily the other day. She'll wait for us to turn the knobs to make them pop up and then she'll push the animals down. When she's done, she'll turn the whole toy upside down.

New Swim Stuff

Well, Emily was starting to outgrow her other swimsuit so I went out to Target and bought her a new one. Then Matt went to Wal-Mart today and got her a little blow up pool. She seemed to like it, but didn't know what to think about the grass. She kept leaning over the side of the pool and picking at the grass.
