Emily the Designer

Last week at school Emily got to make her own 4th of July shirt. She placed the stamps where she wanted and her hand print on the shirt was supposed to be the flag. LOL
She was so proud of it.

I also painted her toenails blue. Very patriotic. She kept saying they looked like my sister Kaci's nails. She usually paints them blue or some cute design on them.

Jessie the Cowgirl Doll

This is a little late, but last month we took Emily to see Toy Story 3. She was sooo excited about it and her favorite character is Jessie the Cowgirl. She has about 3 different one's, but this one actually has a pull-sting on the back and says different phrases. Here she is posing with her new Jessie doll.

Mother's Day Weekend

Well, I'm a little late posting this and have neglected the blog lately. I have been planning something exciting and I have all these ideas stirring around in my head. I've decided to open my own business on the side of selling handmade baby/toddler gifts. I have a friend helping me come up with a logo, website, and business cards. It's in the very early stages right now. I call Emily 'munchkin' all the time and I wanted the business to have a cute kid oriented name. So, I am going to call it 'Munchkin Pie Designs'. I think it's cute. :)
But anyways, here is the post about Mother's Day weekend.

We went to Tulsa to stay with my folks for the weekend and Matt and I went to go see the new Iron Man movie. The next day we went to a Mother's Day breakfast at my parents church. Here is a picture that was taken of me and Emily. I didn't know we were being photographed until after it was taken.

Here is a group shot of all of us. From left: my mom Mimi, my grandma Nana, Aunt Traci, cousin Bethany, me, Emily, and my sister Kaci. Everyone looked great except me trying to get Emily to look at the camera. LOL, oh well.

After church we went out to lunch with the rest of the family.

Nice picture of the three of us, until you look at Emily smiling throught the piece of bread in her mouth. LOL

I tried to get a pic of me and Matt until I heard him go "Ahhh" with the bread in his mouth.
Stinker!! I told him since he did that I was going to post it anyway. Ha Ha!!

This is what Emily made me for Mother's Day at her school. It's a really cute idea. You can hang stuff off of it.

Emily's school had 'Tea with Mom'. They took a picture of us and made a tea cup for all the moms that showed up.

Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!!!

Easter

This post is a little late, but I guess as the saying goes 'better late than never'. I bought this basket at Michaels and added the trim and bow myself to match Emily's dress. She got a new Princess Tiana doll, Alice and Wonderland movie, and lots of eggs filled with candy and other goodies. The chocolate bunny didn't make it back home. We accidentally left it in the car when we were at church and Matt found it all melted in the box. Oops!!

Emily was so excited about opening all the eggs.

Mimi and Papa got her a new little Easter purse, a Veggie Tale Easter movie, stickers, and of course candy. Mmmm. Mimi even picked out the same chocolate bunny that I picked out. How weird it that. We put that one in the fridge and I think it's probably still in there at Rob and Traci's house, unless they threw it away already.

She also found three different Princess and the Frog charms and three Lip Smacker's chapstick, since she's three. I didn't even plan it that way. I just now realized that.

Here is our family Easter pic. Note to self: remember not to face the sun when taking a picture, since we were all squinting our eyes. LOL!! Matt didn't want to take any more, or even the first one, so I gave up.

Emily later went outside with Mimi and Kaci and were blowing bubbles. This was the only picture that turned out cute when they were outside. It was too hard to see the bubbles in the other pics.

Here are the pictures we took at Woodward Park in Tulsa with her Easter dress on. She fell asleep in the car on the way there. She didn't want to go take pictures after I woke her up and so my mom and I bribed her with ice cream when the ice cream man drove by. You can see her lips are blue in some of the pics. I couldn't get it off all the way since it stained her lips.
After we finally got her dressed, we walked around and found a cute little pink tulip. She was bending over smelling it and then the next thing I new, she ripped it out of the ground. I couldn't believe she did that. I got onto her about it and then realized that it went perfect with her dress. LOL! So she carried it around and posed with it. It was pretty much demolished once we got back to the car.
Whoops!! I took this picture just as the wind blew up her dress in the back and her pigtail.

This next one is my favorite!!

Haha..She kept getting yellow pollen on her nose when smelling them.

She just looks so grown up in these next two. I love them and her so much!!

Park in Jenks

During Easter weekend, Emily and I went to Jenks to stay with my parents and spend some time with our friends, Shannon and her boys Sam and Ben. We had lots of fun and played at this really nice park there. The kids had so much fun playing together. The only thing that we didn't like was that it was soooo windy.

Flying Pigtails

I got this really cute one of Ben. Sam would not even look up at me when I had the camera up. Shannon said he's camera shy.

Emily really liked pushing Ben on the swings.

Play-Dough

A few weekends ago, Emily and I dug out the Play-Dough in her closet and tried to make different things. I ended up making this scene and Emily was pretty much mixing all the colors and squeezing it through some machine.

She went and got her camera to take some pictures too.

Had to get one of us.

And one of us taking a picture of each other.

Here she is showing off whatever it was that she made.

Surprise 30th Birthday Party

Exactly 2 weeks ago was my 30th birthday. I still don't know what to think of it. I thought that we were just going to go out to dinner for my birthday at Olive Garden with Matt and Emily. Little did I know that Matt and my mom were planning something with my family.
Matt worked until noon and my parents got to our house a little after. Then the rest of my family drove up a few hours later. They all helped decorate and set up food for the night.

Here was my birthday cake. It had candles in it later that said 'oh no, the big 3-0'. I had them left over from when Matt turned 30 back in September and I forgot to use them. No the cake decorator did not mispell my name. That's my nickname that my mom has called me since high school. For those of you who don't know, Matt and I were in the marching band all through high school and one year we had our picture in the paper. It listed everyone's name out and they spelled my name as Winki instead of Wendi. I got a bunch of crap for it from my friends and it just stuck.

This was soon after they surprised me.

My mom got this crown for me to wear and necklace that said something about being 30. After I put them on Emily ran to her room to find her tiara's to wear. LOL

In the video, Emily and I just got home. We usually come through the garage but this time Emily saw something on the porch and started to go up there after we got the mail. I couldn't get her to come through the garage so I just came through the front door expecting to put my stuff up and then come back to let her in. At this point everyone was hiding and then had to move quickly behind the kitchen bar so I couldn't see them. As soon as I opened the door I gasped from seeing the decorations and thought that Matt got off early to decorate. Then all the sudden everyone jumped up from behind the bar and yelled 'Surprise' and I about peed my pants. I couldn't believe they all came up her for my birthday and they all really got me good. I'm just glad I didn't say anything inappropriate since I wasn't expecting people to jump out. They all hid their cars too so I didn't suspect anything. So, here's the video. It's pretty dark since they had all the lights turned off.

Thanks again for everyone coming up to help celebrate this big milestone in my life and making it very memorable.
